TO BAKE OR NOT TO BAKE?

To begin let me say, "I am not a from scratch baking person." Well that was previously the case. Thanksgiving 2006 inspired me to try new avenues and I made (FROM SCRATCH) dinner rolls. They were gorgeous and delicious! Believe me, I took pictures. My cornbread dressing didn't make the cut, but the rolls were excellent. I have since baked my special dinner rolls twice and I am considering a few from scratch cake recipes. So the question is, "To bake or not to bake?" The answer for me is if I have the time and feel inclined to bake, then I will definitely do just that. I reap unbelievable joy seeing my family smile and eat one dinner roll after another. I love it! I've gone from the nachos and hot dogs serving princess to being the throwdown spaghetti making and from scratch dinner roll baking queen. For you non-bakers, flex some muscle and surprise them with a little something baked from scratch!

And the Winner is...

Ohio State! I predict that Ohio State will go all the way to the Championship and win. With that, the Final Four weekend or the Monday of the 2007 NCAA Championship game are excellent opportunities to have a "Boy's Night Out Party". Let's talk about themes for your party. Here are two ideas:

Sports Theme - complete with basketballs and balloons

OR

Game Night Theme - associated and decorated with all games in mind such as decks of cards, poker chips, and dominos

Both themes sure to add to the fun.

MARCH MADNESS

Are you ready for March Madness? Well, I am. This is an excellent opportunity to have friends over, make projections about which team will win the 2007 NCAA Championship, and serve up delicious eats. The level you take your basketball party to is completely up to you. Instead of the high road, I would opt for something low, down, and dirty. Pizza, hot wings anyone? I will not make my winning team prediction just yet. I am going to wait until the Elite Eight or maybe the Sweet Sixteen. Then, I'll take a stand and make a commitment to a team. Get ready to do the same. I would love to hear your prediction as well.
